I was called as “Chaitanya Vaddi” once upon a time, and I’ll breif you on how Christ transformed me from Chaitanya to Joy—not just in name, but in my very being.
From Knowing Him by Name to Trusting Him by Faith: I’m in a better place now, but it’s tough to recount the person I used to be before encountering the love of Jesus. Like clouds concealed in the dark, I hid a profound pain behind the smiles I wore throughout my college days. However, none of this prevented Jesus from saving me.
March 26, 2018.
University, Chennai.
In that dimly lit room on the third floor, I felt broken and disheartened.
My friends labeled me a traitor, and truth be told, I was one. My own choices had led me to a painful crossroads.
Tears blurred my vision, I found myself with nothing left to do but weep in silence and desperately seek one last chance.
I felt utterly helpless.
Then, at the brink of despair, a person introduced Christ into my life and transformed my rusty cocoon into a butterfly. This unexpected intervention happened through a phone call to a pastor, a stranger my mother had suggested.
“You need not pay,” the pastor said.
I asked, “Why?”
“Because He paid it for you on the cross,” were the words that gripped my heart and reshaped my existence. Over the next three years, I transitioned from knowing Him by name to trusting Him by faith.
The true, loving, forgiving, and living Lord took a moment to show His concern for my life. How incredible it is!
The way He unraveled the mysteries, turning my nightmares into beautiful landscapes, with my family by my side, is beyond words. I found hope, courage, love, and purpose.
Once I was hopeless and felt unworthy. Now, I embrace my identity as a child of God. Christ alone saved me from a phase I never want to revisit, and He stands ready to save you too if you give Him a chance.
Isaiah 42: 5 resonates deeply with me: ‘Thus saith God the LORD, He that created the heavens, and stretched them out; He that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; He that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein.’
From that moment forward, I resolved to follow Him. I believe that Jesus is the only way, truth, and life.
I am Joy, but you can also call me Chaitanya. My testimony is a reminder that faith can transform even the darkest of times into a radiant journey of redemption and grace.
